Another Year, Another iPhone Launch
For 2018, it wasn't a giant update for the iPhone as one would speculate. The giant update was last year with the iPhone X. In following with previous iPhones, an "S" follows any giant update for the smartphone. As always, I loved to be apart of a huge project because I love tech and I love all things Apple. The bonus was when our site merchandiser specifically asked for me to work on the launch campaign assets out of a team of 24 designers.
Some Key Challenges: We are not official partners with Apple so we have to create abstract pre-launch assets. FPO designates "For Placement Only" should the iPhone have a different look upon launch.
Below are a few Post-Launch Assets I mocked up just to get my creativity going since I didn't have my trusty iPad Pro with pencil or Notepad.

Why the XS (text-Only)?
Because we are not official partners with Apple, we are not able to use their marketing images in any of our onsite designs. Because of this (and to avoid lawsuits), ebay NAC will purchase iPhones the day of launch via online or in-store at Apple. Upon purchase, the phones are rushed to a photography studio where they are shot, photoshopped and sent to us to place into our onsite assets. The goal is to swap in the shot phones with the FPO imagery. Smart huh?
Below were a few concepts of how we should portray the iPhone XS while we awaited the post-launch photoshoot photos to come in:
