Walmart Creative Certification Program Portal

Role: Senior Designer

At Walmart Connect (Previously Walmart Media Group), we have seen an overwhelming request in brands wanting to advertise with us. Some brands preferred to utilize their in-house designers or agencies when it comes to designing ads for their brands. However, ad's living within our Walmart ecosystem needed to have our Walmart look and feel as well. With the 2020 global pandemic, it changed the way we trained brands on the Walmart Creative Certification Program (CCP). We wanted to create a site or portal where our partners could learn our style with informative videos and tutorials. Once they became certified, they would have access to PSD templates where they could download, design, and upload creative for approval.

Some key challenges were: Self teaching ourselves UI/UX design and fully immersing ourselves with the use of Sketch.

What is CCP?

Design Systems & Symbols

Some of these design systems and symbols were created by HUGE. Our team then created and modified some of these design systems and symbols to work with the CCP Portal we were building because we wanted to keep a consistent look and feel of the Walmart Media Group (Rebranded to Walmart Connect as of 2021) website. Below are just a few screen shots of what we had come up with and also worked with.

The Results

My team and I created a CCP portal site where our brand partners could watch educational training videos, take quizzes and become certified as a CCP Partner. Once certified, they would gain access to PSD templates and the ability to upload their creative for approval on our end. For seasonal campaigns and templates, we would also include an 'Updates' section for news notifying our brand partners of new templates or seasonal branding for holidays.
