Project Overview

Walmart Connect collaborated with merchant, marketing, and supplier teams to elevate the annual Gamer Drop, building an omni-channel holiday campaign around gaming consoles, titles, and gear. The custom landing page and interactive event activations helped position Walmart as a destination for gaming, driving major sales growth.​

My Role:

  • Co-led concepts and visual direction with the Art Director and copywriter to bring the Gamer Drop strategy to life across digital and in-store touchpoints.

  • Defined the UX, information architecture, and visual hierarchy for the custom Gamer Drop page on Walmart’s site and app, grounded in Walmart best practices and performance learnings.

  • Owned end-to-end design of the chosen direction, from early mocks and stakeholder reviews through wireframes, final layouts, and dev handoff with the development team.

  • Extended the design system into supporting onsite and offsite marketing assets to promote the nationwide Gamer Drop events and reinforce Walmart as a gaming destination.

Proven Sales Impact:

  • Contributed to a 5% total sales lift across Media & Gaming, Electronics, and Wireless, including a 10% lift in video game hardware and an 88% lift in Media & Gaming Miscellaneous at participating Gamer Drop stores versus non-event locations.

The Gamer Drop program puts partners’ brands front and center with Walmart’s valuable gamer audience! Each year this omni-channel program franchise reinforces Walmart as the go-to destination for everything gaming and connects our clients’ brands to customers through multiple touch points across the shopper journey.
