Fresh Signs Daily: Artistry at Trader Joe’s

I worked at Trader Joe’s for over 15 years, where I served as both a Crew Member and Lead Sign Artist. Trader Joe’s is consistently ranked as one of the top companies to work for, and it was a creatively fulfilling place to grow my skills in design and visual communication. As Lead Sign Artist, I was responsible for designing in-store signage, creating chalkboard art, developing visual templates, managing project planning for our sign team & onboarding new artists. A career highlight was being selected—one of just three artists company-wide—to travel to Texas in 2012 and help launch the company’s expansion into the Midwest by hiring and training new store artists. My time at Trader Joe’s gave me a strong foundation in collaborative design, time management, and visual storytelling—skills that continue to inform my work today.
